I often jot things down in the notepad on my phone and forget about it. It could be a song lyric or just something that pops in my head. Today I was looking for something else and came across this:
“We are young, we are ready, we have nothing to fear”
Exactly what I needed to hear today. The world is ours people, go find yourself!
A year ago I was galavanting around Amsterdam.
Despite the constant rain, it was literally a dream come true to visit ‘the world’s most liberal city’ with 3 of my best girlfriends. Unfortunately ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ hadn’t come out yet so I never got a chance to go find that bench & pretend I was Hazel Grace… But I did get to admire the amazing architecture, eat the GLORIOUS food (that’s what happens when you’re trapped in the UK… when you travel elsewhere, good food is your #1 priority), and visit all the coffeeshops. At one point, (at the infamous Amsterdam sign) the sole of my boot unattached itself and my foot was soaking wet… but hey it’s all about the experiences.
When in Amsterdam, you must visit the Anne Frank House (it’s worth the wait in line) but feel free to pass up the Diamond/Diamont Museum (because at the end you learn all the jewels you just saw were replicas).
I think it’s time to go back…
I took this photo on one of the most emotionally taxing days of my life. Leaving a 2.5 year relationship & stepping into the unknown is terrifying. But as the sky reassured me that day, it’s a beautiful, extraordinary adventure to be a twenty-something year old girl. (woman?)
